building a backyard track  (United States)
So I've been out of rc for a while and decided to get back in and bought my first nitro (duratrax warhead evo) I'm staying with my parents for the time being until I get back up and running with my new job and my 55 yr old stepdad decided that he wanted and electric truck since he got his he said he will let me build a full on dirt track in the backyard. This track isn't going to be anything for super serious racing but mainly for practice and for having friends over whenever I make some new ones seeing as I'm new here.Ok so my question is are there any tips anyone can give me about doing this. I've already made the measurements as far as the area that the track will cover and even did a scale drawing on graph paper. And have finished the design. I forgot to mention that my stepdad is financing the entire project as long as he doesnt have to work haha which is pretty cool.I'd even like to meet some fellow rc guys and girls so if anyone would like to shoot me an email and come hang out and help with the building process which would guarantee a free pass to come practice just about anytime. I'd like to at least get the track dug out of the yard before it gets too cold so feel free to hit me up guys!Bigj0812@MSN.com is my email-Jordan

Re: building a backyard track  (United States)

A friend of mine built a track in his backyard he used drain tubeing like dirtburners ask when they do a rebuild and they will likely give you any of the tube they replace which is not perfect but still very usable. You will also want a hard rake, hand tamper, shovels, wheel barrle, push broom, tiller(you might be able to rent one) and alot of hard work but once done they are alot of fun:) orion make a lap counter they sell for around $60 on ebay and are worth it if you want to get some race times.

here is a pic of their track
