Re: 2008 Season Start - Flood Impact  (United States)

We will be rebuilding the track and finishing getting the rest of the facility ready this weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. As of now they're saying scattered showers Friday ending early Saturday so hopefully we'll be able to get on the track mid-morning Saturday to start the rebuild. We will also be cleaning-up and doing some minor repairs Saturday and Sunday.

We will needing some help Saturday 04-19-08 and lots of help on Sunday 04-20-08, so anyone who can help please come down.

Please contact Trent Kirk at (314) 221-0760 if you are wanting to help and wondering when/where we can use some help. We can always use hand tools, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, bobcats, etc. so please bring what you think will help.

Re: 2008 Season Start - Flood Impact  (United States)

Unfortunately, the track was still too wet to really do any machine work last weekend. We will be again attempting to rebuild the track and finish-up getting the rest of the facility ready this weekend.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped the last few weeks and we would also like to thank everyone for the patience and kind words during this long period of rain, floods, and delays.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate. As of now they're saying storms Friday evening but Saturday and Sunday look really good. We are going to try and make sure any standing water is off the track Friday night, so hopefully with the sun Saturday we will be able to get the machines on it and get the track done.

We will be trying to get as much of the machine work done as possible Saturday and hopefully we'll be down to some hand-work and laying tube Sunday afternoon. We will needing some help Saturday 04-26-08 and lots of help on Sunday 04-27-08, so anyone who can help please come down.

We are in pretty good shape overall and actually the facility is in a little better shape than last year. We just need to dam rain to stay away long enough to get the layout done and tube down so we can get the season started already.

Please contact Trent Kirk at (314) 221-0760 if you are wanting to help and wondering when/where we can use some help. We can always use hand tools, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, bobcats, etc. so please bring what you think will help.

Racing should be on for this weekend, weather permitting. As of today they're predicting a crest of 17.8ft for the Meramec in Valley Park. The track isn't affected until 20+ feet. So, as of now it looks like a go but until we get a little closer there is no way to know for sure.
