Are Traxxas 2 wheel D. competitive?

It is not impossible to be competative with a Rusty. Just look what Rod Rippy and Justin Dremier did with a 20 year old RC10.

It takes someone who really knows set-up and driving and in the case of the rusty, someone who knows how to loose a half-pound off a truck to get it done.

Is is possible? Yes Is if probable? No.

I love Traxxas and what it has done for the hobby. But the Rusty has a ton of work to be on par with the Associated T4 or a Kyosho.

The Comp Rusty is coming along nicely. It now sports a wider stance due to Jato RPM arms and a 3.3 that I modded myself.
And my goal of staying under $250 is way off in the distance.
As it stands I have less than $150 in the car so far including the orirginal purchase of a bashed out runner..

if you look back to the original post, it asks if traxxas cars can be competitive, not if they will win. but, i will always believe that i can win with my rusty. part of this is because the rustler is based of the srt, the car that won many roar electric nationals. anybody who has an srt should know that it performs as well as, if not better than, a t4 or what ever losi makes.
